Recovery from Internet Mail Hangs
							9/27/95, JMB
	The current version of UCX, the VMS Internet package, hangs
occasionally on mail delivery. Other old hangs seem to be fixed. These hangs
do not affect DECnet mail, outgoing internet mail, or inbound internet mail
on other nodes (due to low usage). As a result of the mail delivery hangs,
a batch job RESTARTSMTP has been created that runs every day at about 4 am
on UNDHD0 to restart the internet mail delivery.

	If you notice that internet mail delivery is not happening on UNDHD0,
and Jim is not around, you may log into the HEPoperator account and release
the job RESTARTSMTP in the queue MED0BATCH. Do:
$ SHOW QUEUE/ALL/BY=TIME
$ SET ENTRY/REL ###	! ### is the job entry number from the Show Queue
This job will restart internet mail and requeue itself for tomorrow morning.
If this does not release a stream of mail deliveries, check if internet mail
is getting to a Unix node. If not, the problem is outside HEP; contact Jim
or OUC. Be sure to let Jim know that you have done this.

	If you suspect that this is the problem, do not be afraid to release
this job. If this is not the problem, this job will not complicate anything.
