The Physics Department at the University of Notre Dame has multiple tenure-track Assistant Professorships available, to start either January or August 2003.The Department of Physics has 38 regular faculty members and typically about 85 graduate students in the Ph.D. program. The principal research areas include astronomy/astrophysics, atomic physics, biophysics, condensed matter physics, high-energy physics, and nuclear physics. Faculty members are expected to be effective teachers at both the undergraduate and the graduate level and to initiate and maintain vigourous research programs.
